The Bulb Ray box (SKU JA-LOE-7967) is a light source for ray optics experiments, built as a painted die-cast metal box that houses a 12 V bulb with a vertically straight filament. As a bulb ray box with slit plate for optics practicals, it produces single or triple narrow rays for tracing reflection and refraction through mirrors, prisms, blocks and lenses on the bench. It is supplied with a double-ended single/triple slit plate and runs from a low-voltage AC supply.

Applications of the bulb ray box
In ray optics practicals the ray box gives bright, well-defined rays in place of pins or candles, so students can mark incident, reflected and refracted rays directly on paper and measure the angles with a protractor.
