The Absorber Set (SKU JA-APE-9387) is a graded set of 24 absorbers, each 50 mm square, for studying how alpha, beta and gamma radiation is absorbed by materials of increasing thickness. Experiments with the absorber set
Placed between a radioactive source and a Geiger-Muller tube, the absorbers let students measure how the count rate falls as absorber thickness increases, which distinguishes alpha, beta and gamma radiation and gives absorption curves.
