The Acrylic Semi Circular Prism (SKU JA-LOE-7958) is a semi-circular block prism of acrylic with fully polished faces, used in school and college optics practicals to study the refraction of light. As a semi-circular acrylic block for refraction experiments, it lets students follow a ray through the flat and curved faces and observe the critical angle and total internal reflection. Applications of the semi-circular acrylic block
In the optics laboratory the semi-circular block is used with a ray box or optical pins to show how light bends at a plane surface, to work out the refractive index of acrylic and to find the critical angle at which total internal reflection begins.
